This pretty stone villa overlooks the ocean on the idyllic island of Zakynthos. It’s a leisurely twenty-minute stroll to the beach at Kaminia or an easy four-minute drive. If you fancy a night on the town, Zakynthos Town buzzes to life after sunset and is just a ten-minute drive away.

Back at the villa you’ve got plenty to keep you occupied. Like the glittering swimming pool on the huge terrace looking out over the Aegean. Our favourite spot out here has to be the suspended day bed, swathed with curtains. You’ve also got a covered veranda for alfresco dining and a second terrace upstairs with a chi chi chaise longue if you want to live out your romance novel fantasies.

The interior feels grand yet rustic with exposed stone walls at every turn and an old stone fireplace in the living room. Tufted leather armchairs, mini chandeliers and hand-carved wardrobes add the decadence. The master suite is fairytale-esque with stone archways framing glowing candelabra and satin curtains cascading from the four-poster bed. We love the vintage design touches that complement wooden ceilings throughout – a rotary phone here, a steam-punk sink there.
