Perched on top of a Peloponnese hillside surrounded by olive trees, this humble villa is one of four homes built from local stone that will sing to anyone after a quiet sojourn away from the crowds.

The whitewashed interior is instantly calming upon entrance and follows a minimalist approach to design. What few driftwood decorations and framed pictures there are do add a rustic charm. We should mention that the kitchen is certainly on the smaller side, but there's everything there needed to cook the group a hearty dinner.

Although there's a table inside, there's another out on the terrace outside from which the locale's tranquillity can be truly appreciated. The invitingly blue outdoor swimming pool shared between all of the onsite villas is an equally pleasant spot to do this from, too.

When you fancy reentering civilisation, Mavrovouni Beach takes all of five minutes to reach in the car and the coastal town of Methoni is a twelve-minute drive when you're after restaurants and markets.
